Another Minister Killed in Pakistan for Advocating Anti-Blashphemy Law

Shahbaz Bhatti, minorities minister of Pakistan, was killed today by extremist for advocating anti-blashphemy law.  This is not the first that has happened in Pakistan. Earlier late governor of Pakistan Salman Taseer has also been assassinated in similar way and for the same reason.



Bhatti was a Christian and was strongly against the blasphemy laws. He was also working with late Salman Taseer for the welfare of minority community in Pakistan. According to the reports he was shot down by four gunmen at close range as he left his home today in Islamabad. He was with his niece when he was shot dead.


The gunmen pulled his niece and guard from vehicle and then shot him inside the car several times. The minister was sent immediately to the local hospital but he was pronounced dead.


As per reports some pamphlets were left behind by the gunmen which has been signed by a group fidayin-e-muhammad and al-qaida in punjab.


Human rights campaigners reacted strongly over his killing. But the fact is killers also have huge support within pakistani people. This clearly shows the present state of Pakistan. As per surveys most minorities in Pakistan wants to leave the country due to Muslim extremism.

HOSNI MUBARAK DIES DURING SURGERY !??

CAIRO: The Egyptian twittersphere has been on fire over rumors that President Hosni Mubarak has passed away in Germany. The frantic re-tweeting and attempts to get further information were in full swing Saturday afternoon after reports that Russian television ran a story saying the Egyptian president was dead.

“I wonder if Mubarak really has died, maybe they want to delay the announcement till we’re over Tantawy’s death? Lest Tantawy takes spotlight?” wrote one Twitterer concerning the possible death of the president.

It is the question that will surely continue until either confirmation comes from the government or the president is seen in good health.

Rumors have been ongoing for the past three days after local state-run media reported that the aging president had tissue removed in surgery, but that he did not have cancer. They said he had been taken out of the intensive care unit in a German hospital and was in stable condition. It is unclear at this point what the exact situation is in Germany.

“What’s interesting, though, is that we’ve been hearing the same bit of news over Mubarak for 3 days now. Weird, isn’t it?” asked another Twitter user.

Despite the online chatter, Egyptian officials have denied that Mubarak has died. This comes only days after Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar Mohamed Sayyid Tantawi died of a heart attack in Saudi Arabia at the age of 82.

The Egyptian president went into a German hospital last week to have surgery on his gall bladder. Sources said that the surgery had proved successful and Mubarak had been transferred out of intensive care and into a recovery room where he was in “stable” condition.

At the time of writing, Lebanese and Tunisia tweets had reported Mubarak passed away and others were also reporting the news, however, nothing could be confirmed.

Pakistani Cricketers Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt banned for 5, 7 and 10 Years respectively by ICC

In a latest blow to the Pakistani team before the world cup ex-captain Salman butt along with his two other teammates Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif has been banned from International cricket by ICC. These players were accused of spot fixing. They were allegedly involved in throwing paid 'no-balls' in a match against England.

Salman butt has been banned for 10 years. His career is almost finished with this decision of ICC. He is currently 27 year old. There were sympathy for the young player Mohammad Amir from all around the world. But ICC has taken a strong decision for clean cricket. This is going to impact the performance of pakistani team in the world cup which is about to start in next two weeks.

Pakistan cricket board(PCB) is yet to respond.

GOOGLE ACCUSES BING FOR COPYING SEARCH RESULTS

For words like 'hiybbprqag' Google has accused Microsoft of cheating, following an investigation known as the 'Bing Sting' headed by an Indian Google fellow Amit Singhal.

Google engineers created 100 nonsensical queries such as "hiybbprqag" and inserted a fake result for each.

Within weeks, the same results began to appear on its rival Microsoft's Bing search engine.

Microsoft denies copying Google and accused Google of conducting "spy-novelesque stunts".

Harry Shum, vice president of Bing, said: "We do not copy Google's search results. We use multiple signals and approaches in ranking search results," he added.

"Opt-in programs like the toolbar help us with clickstream data, one of many input signals we and other search engines use to help rank sites," he added.

Cheap imitation

"A search for 'hiybbprqug' on Bing returned a page about seating at a theatre in Los Angeles. As far as we know the only connection between the query and result is Google's result page," he said.

"We noticed that URLs from Google search results would later appear in Bing with increasing frequency," he went on.

He concluded that Microsoft was gathering data on what people search for on Google, via either Internet Explorer or the Bing Search toolbar.

"Some Bing results increasingly look like an incomplete, stale version of Google results - a cheap imitation," he said.

"On the one hand you could say it's incredibly clever. Why not mine what people are selecting as the top results on Google as a signal?" he wrote on his blog.

But he also said he had sympathy for Google's view that Bing is doing something wrong.

"Every search engine has its own 'search voice', a unique set of search results that it provides, based on its collection of documents and its own particular method of ranking those.

I think Bing should develop its own search voice without using Google's as a tuning fork," he added.

Wider issues for him include how Google went about setting up its honeypot trap to ensnare Bing and whether it was just a "clever way to distract from current discussions about its search quality".

Google has stressed that it has now removed the one-time code that it added to plant the fake pages.

Had any of its fake queries proved popular, it said that it would have removed the page they linked to.

He also questioned how much consumers knew about the data capture that must have been involved in gathering Google's search results, either via Internet Explorer or the Bing toolbar.

"Do Internet Explorer users know that they might be helping Bing in the way Google alleges? Technically, yes. Explicitly, absolutely not," he said.
